SUMMARY:Moose Creek Volunteer Day
DESCRIPTION:Join the Big Hole Watershed Committee and Sage Steppe Conservation for a hands-on volunteer day at Moose Creek on July 7\, 2026. This is a great opportunity to spend a day outdoors while helping improve stream health\, support beaver habitat\, and protect important infrastructure in the Moose Creek watershed. \nBeavers play an important role in creating healthy streams and wetlands\, but their activity can sometimes impact roads\, culverts\, and other infrastructure. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome\, and project staff will provide guidance throughout the day. \nEvent Details\nDate: July 7\, 2026Meeting Location: Feely Exit 111 off I-15Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. \nLunch and work gloves will be provided. \nWhat to Bring\n\nWaders or irrigation boots\nHat and sun protection\nBug spray\nWater\nA chair (if desired) for lunch\n\nThis is a wonderful chance to learn more about stream restoration\, beaver habitat\, and watershed stewardship while making a meaningful contribution to the health of the Big Hole watershed. \nSign up: https://sagesteppe.org/volunteer \nFor questions\, please contact Nolan Salix\, BHWC Restoration Specialist\, at nsalix@bhwc.org.

SUMMARY:Visit BHWC at Montana Folk Festival!
DESCRIPTION:The Big Hole Watershed Committee is excited to be part of the 2026 Montana Folk Festival in Butte\, July 10–12! \nIf you’re attending the festival\, be sure to stop by our booth at the water filling station next to the Original Stage. Whether you’re a longtime supporter\, a Big Hole Valley local\, or simply curious about one of Montana’s most iconic rivers\, we’d love to visit with you. \nOur staff and board members will be on hand throughout the weekend to answer questions\, share information about current restoration and conservation projects\, and talk about the many ways people can get involved in protecting and enhancing the Big Hole River watershed. Learn about stream restoration\, water conservation\, wildlife conflict reduction\, volunteer opportunities\, and the collaborative work being done to keep the Big Hole healthy for future generations. \nThe Big Hole River connects all of us—landowners\, anglers\, hunters\, recreationists\, business owners\, residents\, and visitors alike. The Montana Folk Festival is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the people and places that make Southwest Montana special\, and we’re proud to share the story of the Big Hole with festival-goers from across the state and beyond. \nSo while you’re enjoying the music\, food\, and festivities\, take a moment to stop by our display. Fill up your water bottle\, say hello\, and learn a little more about the river that brings our communities together. \nWe look forward to seeing you there!
