MFWP Lifts Restrictions on Another Section of the Big Hole
Effective immediately, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is lifting the fishing closure on the Big Hole River from Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks’ Maiden Rock Fishing Access Site to Notch Bottom Fishing Access Site.
With improved flows, this reach has met the criteria for reopening set by the Big Hole Watershed Drought Management Plan.
However, two reaches of the Big Hole remain closed to all fishing:
- Big Hole River from Saginaw Bridge on Skinner Meadows Road to the confluence of the North Fork Big Hole River and Big Hole River;
- Big Hole River from Notch Bottom FAS to confluence with the Beaverhead River.
Also in Region 3, the Yellowstone River remains under emergency closure from Pine Creek FAS to Emigrant FAS.
