The Big Hole Watershed Committee’s October public meeting was held Wednesday, October 16, 2019. The meeting included an important discussion on a proposed update to the Big Hole River Drought Management Plan, the revealing of the first Big Hole Watershed Stewardship Award, and a presentation on Western Pearlshell Mussels & Aquatic Macroinvertebrates.
Dave Stagliano, Montana Biological Survey, provided information regarding Western Pearlshell mussel habitat, populations, conservation status, threats, and more. Dave also discussed a recent Western Pearlshell mussel study and presented information regarding existing macroinvertebrate studies on the Big Hole River.
