Current flows and water temperatures by section (as of 8/9/22 at 3:45 PM) are listed below along with section statuses:
Section 1: Saginaw Bridge on Skinner Meadows Road to North Fork Big Hole River mouth
Streamflow: 18 cfs
Water temperature: 66.7 F
Status: Hoot Owl Restrictions, Conservation (we expect FWP to officially close this section due to low flows soon)
Section 2: North Fork Big Hole River mouth to Dickie Bridge
Streamflow: 160 cfs
Water temperature: 70.5 F
Status: Hoot Owl Restrictions, Prepare for Conservation
Section 3: Dickie Bridge to MFWP Maiden Rock FAS
Streamflow: 311 cfs
Water temperature: 66.6 F
Status: Open
Section 4: MFWP Maiden Rock FAS to Tony Schoonen FAS
Streamflow: 324 cfs
Water temperature: 70.7 F
Status: Hoot Owl Restrictions
Section 5: Tony Schoonen FAS to Confluence with Jefferson River
Streamflow: 147 cfs
Water temperature: 71.6 F
Status: Hoot Owl Restrictions, Conservation
Hoot Owl restrictions, which restrict fishing after 2:00 PM, are still in place on Big Hole River Sections 1, 2, 4, and 5 due to high water temperatures.
