BHWC met June 18th, 2025 at the Divide Grange Hall. The meeting was also available via Zoom thanks to a partnership with Southern Montana Telephone Company, who donates WiFi for the Grange Hall.
We were joined by Jack Losensky, author of Logging for the Company: Marcus Daly and Flume Logging Near Anaconda, 1883-1917. Jack gave us a summary of his book and showed several historical photographs of logging on what is now the Mount Haggin Wildlife Management Area. BHWC has been working over the last decade to restore damaged streams and slopes in this area, impoving water quality as well as fish and wildlife habitat. In addition to Jack’s presentation, the meeting included committee reports, project updates, and time for discussion.
